And The Living Is Easy.....

It's 8 in the morning and the current temp is 70.  Yes, it will get very hot today, but by tonight, the temp will drop in to the 60's.  'Nuff said.

 

Yesterday I went to Golden to lunch and shop with my new girlfriend Valarie:

But first I got a little tour of Valaries beautiful home!!  I'm going to show you a few of my favorite areas.

My current obsession- paper straws- and this girl has a ton of them!  I'm already getting ready for my Halloween baking with some orange food coloring, cupcake cups and black sprinkles and such.  My friend Saucy had a recipe on how to make your own sprinkles here.

Got these gorgeous Truth bracelets from my girl Sherry of Glamarella Junk.  I love how they feel and sound:

And they will take me right through Fall!!

 

Next week I'll be heading to Phoenix for a few days to attend this wonderful event:

I have been a long time admirer (and collector) of her art so I am very excited to be taking this FLAG class from her.  And she is now one of my local peeps!!

Then, the following week is this biggie:

It's going to be a reunion, of sorts.  Packed with my girlfriends from Cali, Arizona and all over the country!  It will be glorious!!  I'll be rooming with my dear Jessi girl:

The puppy is doing great!  She is so tiny, but growing fast!  And Scout loves her!!

A Baby In The House and I'm Up All Night.....

What was I thinking?  

It's kid of like having a real baby!  However, she is lovely and we adore her!  Since losing Remy, Scout has been depressed and we have had such a big hole in our hearts.  Last weekend, we got this little sweetie:

Her name is Harper- we stayed with the "To Kill a Mockingbird" theme.  She is a pocket beagle and at 8 weeks old, she weighs in at about 2 pounds!  She will eventually grow to be about 13-15 pounds, just like Scout.  Harper's tan and white coloring is referred to as "Lemon" in the beagle world.

Harper is enjoying Scout, who we are now calling "the giant"....

Life is good.

What's Up In My World....

This is my happy- sitting in the backyard, on a glider, glass of Sangria in hand, watching Al at the grill...

And we are missing this sweet girl so much.  For 13 years she was part of our family and she helped take care of the boys as they grew up.  Her health has been failing....arthritis, her back legs go out from her, it was hard to get up and walk.  One morning Al went down to let her out and she just laid there on the floor, not even wanting food.  It was her day and she went peacefully.

Cafe Bustelo- too cheap to believe!!  And such a nice dark roast!  My girl The Pioneer Woman has an iced coffee recipe that I had to try- yummy!!

I love this town- Littleton, Colorado.  Last Saturday was A Paris Street Market !  There were at least 100 vendors selling crafts, clothing and hand made items- it was fabulous!!  And the weather was so perfect and pretty....

I'm hoping my girls Michelle and Tricia will make it up here to vend! What a party that weekend will be!

Celebrating Our Independence

On Saturday we took the boys to see Denver lacrosse team the Outlaws play Boston, and the game was followed by a brilliant firework display!  We live so close to the Light Rail, we rode it downtown....
