Good times Are Coming....

This weekend, some of my favorite peeps are coming into Phoenix! A special friend will be celebrating her 50th with a big old party!
Here is Birthday girl on the left and one of my BFF Peeps arriving this weekend:

Upcoming is the anniversary of my mom's death, and I am so blessed that I will be surrounded by love and laughter!

I can not even find words to describe my intense longing for my mom, and the depth of my grief.

GORGEOUS quilt pattern's by my girl Tammy- available now on her website! I can't wait to play!!

I bought this SUPER groovy necklace from my sweet peep Joy- e mail her and ask when she will have some made! It's big and chunky- yummy! Joy is kind of like my personal shopper- she knows just what I like, and she has EXQUISITE taste!

Some jewelry from my grandmother- the necklace is a chunky choker, 24 kt gold purchased in Florence. I need help with figuring out the earrings (Nancy???). My grandmother purchased them many years ago on a trip to London. She knew the woman that owned a wonderful antique store where grandma found these. They are big, but light- my favorites!

Crafty me! Miss Inside a Black Apple created some embroidery patterns for Sublime Stitching, and look what I crafted! I embroidered on muslin, attached it to some vintage fabric and then stapled it to an 8' x 10" canvas!!

It's flipping GORGEOUS!! My photoshop has a glitch right now so there is more of my boobs than necessary, but isn't this fabulous?!?! Thanks Kecia!!

Lookie....

I received this glorious banner from my girlfriend Tracie in the mail today. It is beautiful- even more beautiful in person! She often has them in her etsy shop:

An apron made in a fabulous class I took at Blissful Living Studio in Mesa:

It's waiting for some rhinestones and yoyo's!. Not enough Sis Boom fabric in the Phoenix area! The gorgeous pink and the yummy blue stripes are designed by my peep Jennifer, but there wasn't another coordinating fabric so I used some from Heather Bailey's line.

I'm working on some embroidery for tomorrow!

ART UNRAVELED

It was so wonderful to be with old friends and new friends again. My local peeps Angie and Fran were there (why do I only see them once a year?) and of course dearest Rella. Different peep, same story- why is that?

One of my big treats was seeing my LA girlfriend Julie- I just adore her and I jumped with joy when I saw her! We usually get together with the "gang" at the ArtBar when I am in town. Look at her chock- full- of- goodness trade:

Top left Mexican ephemera pack from local artist Cindy Kovack who taught for the second year at Art Unraveled. She also slipped a little piece of chocolate in there, but I consumed that within seconds. Top Right is another shot of Mad Hat Julie's pack, and on the bottom is Joanne's "Boiled and Baked" domino necklace- it has a wicked cool textured surface. Thanks girls!

This weekend:

I had planned on going for a drive with my peeps Kim, Colleen and Sherry for a few days. We made all sorts of pretty fun plans to meet up with other peeps. Unfortunately, I can't go since I lost 3 full days being sick, and I have so much to do before we leave for Paris on 9/6! I'm going to miss you so much my girls!

Since I didn't shop at Art Unraveled this year, my groovy peep Olivia is making this sweetie for me to purchase- her name is "Lovey"!

I've been so sick....

I woke up Friday feeling crappy and this Sunday morning I finally got out of bed! I missed the Art Unraveled vendor day- one of my favorite shopping days of the year!
Every year I look forward to buying a new prim doll from Olive Rose and picking through the goodies at the Hannah Grey Curiosities booth- I am broken hearted! And all those friends I had hoped to see one more time before the event ended!

Pilar always finds the most clever cards! In addition to lovely bath salts is a little notepad she crafted and THE MOST PERFECT freaking bracelet in the world! Crafted by Pip's extremely talented paws! She is so thoughtful- it includes elements that I identify with! (Have I gushed enough yet?)

I love Art Unraveled!

...because I meet such great friends like Joanne:

And I get to see old friends like Lori and her darling man, Alan- they are so fabulous together!:

I have seen so many friends it makes me very happy! I get so bust chatting that I forget to take photos!
On Tuesday I had the class "Eclectic Ethnic Tassels" with the sweetest most patient teacher Robin Dudley Howes:

The class is very rich with detail and technique so my project is not complete. but this is what it will is supposed to look like:
