I'll be here until Sunday night:
And these will be my gifties for my fellow attendees:
This was a wonderful workshop. It's night time now so I can't get a good photo of my project until I return from the ArtNest. The weekend started off perfectly when I picked up my BFF Tanya and also the delightful Ms. Deryn Mentock! We tooled around and went to Apache Hardware-rows upon rows of dirty hardware!
My local peep Angie (isn't she gorgeous with that red hair and all?) with Deryn:
On Saturday we had our painting class with DJ- she made is so easy!! The 4 of us went out for dinner and sat and chatted for hours!!
Sunday was our class with Deryn who took us through all the steps with ease. At the end of the day, Tanya and I show off our not-quite-complete projects:
That night our friend Sylvia Luna came to the store. We went out for dinner.....
And Laura and DJ spent some time together before Laura's flight out:
I am so happy and honored to have all these talented women in my life! The greatest blessing was having Tanya stay at my home with me. She is a warm and easy spirit and we spent alot of time LOL out loud ;)
Tanya gifted me with some very special and meaningful collage items. She also started me on a cross collection when my mom was dieing and she gave me another to add. I have finally gotten Tanya to start a blog, and she is getting her feet wet. I know you will love her as much as I do! Thank you for being my friend Tanya!
She's only 9 years old so she doesn't have a blog yet. Abbey lived down the street from me until a few months ago, and we would hang out and talk "arts & crafts" from time to time. Well, she has been reading my blog and looking at all the pretty things and she decided to make me a craft to headline on my blog!!
This is what she delivered to my house:
Abbey painted a special canvas for me to hand with my other artwork. Those little flowers she made will most certainly be showing up in my collages!
Andif you look closly at the top photo, she also picked out some fabulous Mary Engelbreit note cards (who is not a fan of Mary's gorgeous work?) and she custom wrapped a pencil for me. And how about that little Princess that grows???
Thank you Abbey! I'll be sending some goodies your way when I get back from Utah next week!!
I love you little Peep!
Yesterday was a whirlwind of fun! I picked up my friends Tanya Peacock (no blog!!) and Deryn Mentock at the airport and we tooled around. My darling friend Tanya is staying with me this weekend and we are attending an amazing class at the The Paper Studio in Tempe. Last night the package was complete
when DJ Pettitt arrived. Photos will be forthcoming!
Royally this time. I spent the last hour or so responding to 3 different tags, and going on to tag others. I can't do it again, so dear girls Denise, Mya and Marie- I tried!! Thank you for thinking of me!
From a blog give away win from Jill at Junk to Jewels, look at all this splendor!
A wonderful altered cabinet card from my girlfriend Dawn:
And from Junk Gypsy:
Another Doll collage!
My sweet Vintage Swap Partner received the box of goodies I sent her. If you'd like to see what I sent Cindy you can find it HERE.
I received my Vintage Kitchen Swap from my partner Cindy Mayfield, and it is wonderful! Just look inside the box:
Thank you Cindy, I love it!
I've been busy creating, but nothing is complete yet, so in the mean time I'll share my China with you:
That is my mom's wedding china- my darling dad gave it to me last week.
This pattern belonged to my maternal grandmother- the cup you see is the only one I have for a set 12 place settings! Replacements doesn't even have them. I've been picking up other cups & saucers over the years and I'm building a nice collection!
This pattern was my paternal grandmother's set (or is, since she is still alive at 96!)
Next up, I received my registration package for The ArtNest. It's beautiful! Julie and Candice put so much into making everything pretty!
And in fairness to all my creatures, this is my boy Biscuit relaxing on the patio yesterday afternoon:
