While in Sedona I bought this beautiful Santos. I nearly had to run Mary over to get it, but in the end, she acquiesced and agreed I saw it first...but only by a moment or two!
One of the highlights of my trip was that Mary came home with me for a day. With her help and artistic eye, my fireplace area turned out like this:
It's a very big area, and Mary suggested some black and cream stripes inside the niche, along with a black harlequin design across the front. I can't wait to paint it! Now, spending some time in Sylvia Luna's amazing home most certainly inspired the purchase of religious icon imagery. Sylvia has the most amazing collection of Santos and statues and all kinds of religious icons, that you would become immersed as well!
Next, I received my goodies from the Vintage Storybook and Crafty Bookmark Swap that was hosted by Jenny Hernandez of The Polka Dot Pixie. My delightful swap partner was Rebecca who presented me with such a wonderful assortment of books, and a very crafty bookmark! Everything came wrapped in wonderful vintage children's gift paper!
I also signed on for the Paper Dress Garland Swap hosted by Heather of The Speckled Egg . This has been fun putting together. Here are my pieces to send to Heather:
The beautiful earrings and necklace were given to me by a few of my most beloved peeps! Every kind gesture that I have received over the last few months has caused me to lose my breath for a moment. How did I get so lucky to receive the gift of friendship from so many? I will cherish every gift, email and card sent to me. I feel so blessed.
These beauties have been both created by Deryn Mentock . These gorgeous earrings I received from Deryn:
And this necklace, a gift from my favorite Cowboy's Sweetheart Deb :
As many of you perhaps know, I am a collector of Deryn's work. I just adore you girls, and everyone, who has made me feel so very special...THANK YOU!!
Yesterday I went out for some art therapy and took a class at one of my favorite stores, The Frenzy Stamper owned by my friend Deb. Donne Goldstein taught a class on waxed dresses. Here's mine:
And from my classmates: From Top left: Linda Young , teacher Donne's dress, Marissa and I can't remember the last girl's name. I spent time chatting with her, but I forgot to ask her name!
