Bonnet, beanie, skull cap...no matter what you call it, hat is about attitude. You wear a hat to make, or show, you feel a certain way. This fabulous hat I received as a trade from Mara and I can tell you my skull cap makes me feel like a bad ass crafter! My husband thinks it means I haven't taken a shower, but isn't that what baseball caps are for? What does your hair decoration say about you?
I ordered some beautiful vintage paper packs from my friend Pam. Just look at how beautifully it's packaged! The kit comes with a ton of wonderful vintage paper goodies! She has such beautiful, feminine, girlie taste, I adore looking at her blog! When this arrived yesterday I also received an order from my new favorite special paper place, The Sparrow's Cottage. Katie has recently designed the "Layde's Book of Days", which is a 12 month calender made with paper having an "olde world" feel to it. She has also added a few pockets to store items and some very cool pieces of notepaper to scribble on when you need to. I love how I could customize it with my choice of ribbon. Also in yesterday's mail was my order from Alpha Stamps , a place that is way more than stamps. They have really small bird houses that are ready to be decorated so I ordered several.
On the art front, I finally completed the ATC's for my friend's book, and sent them overnight to the publisher. I hope my girlfriend loves them, and can use them in her book. I had known the deadline for quite a while, but I still wait until the last minute to complete them! Nick's 5th grade teacher has to put her family dog down last weekend because of illness. Knowing how traumatic that is, I made a little 4"x4" canvas of the doggie with the prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi, the Patron Saint of Animals, over it. I hope it brings her comfort.
